After a hiatus to tend to some projects and personal matters, the Blog is back and at the ballpark.
Clayton Kershaw takes the mound for the Dodgers tonight as they host the Chicago Cubs. Kershaw boasts a 13-7 record to go with a league leading 1.72 ERA and appears to be a strong front-runner for the3 Cy Young award.
The Dodgers are coming off a 6-2 victory last night that featured 8 2/3 strong innings from Zack Greinke. Home runs from Hanley Ramirez and Yasiel Puig thrilled a crowd of 40,000 plus, and Vin Scully spun poetry with a rendition of Tinker to Evers to Chance for the T.V. audience in the top of the seventh after the Cubs’ Mike Rizzo grounded into a double play. The team boasts a 9 1/2 game lead in the division, and the Magic Number for a division win is 23.
Rick Monday Bobblehead Night tonight. The game is well-sold, so please be patient getting into the ballpark tonight.
