Dodgers Recall Stephen Fife, Option Scott Van Slyke

The Dodgers make one more roster move today, activating right-handed starting pitcher  Stephen Fife from the 15 day disabled list and optioning outfielder/first baseman Scott Van Slyke to AAA Albuquerque.  Van Slyke, who had played in each of the first three games of the series against the Cubs while giving rests to Carl Crawford, Andre Ethier and Adrian Gonzalez, will not be eligible to come back to the Dodgers for ten days barring an injury to another player.  Fife, who last pitched for the Dodgers on July 6th in San Francisco, pitched well in his rehab outings will start today’s game against the Chicago Cubs.
