The Dodgers got an additional bullpen arm today, signing right-handed relief pitcher Brian Wilson to a contract. Terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed. Wilson, who has not pitched since April 12th, 2012, is expected to rehab in Arizona and then at Class A Rancho Cucamonga before being promoted to the Dodgers in about two weeks. The owner of 171 saves and “The Beard,” Wilson could be a tremendous acquisition if he proves to be healthy and able to get major league hitters out.
The Blog also has been informed of some social media backlash against Wilson by San Francisco Giants fans against Wilson for the signing. Rather than type out a rant, The Blog shows its face in a rare appearance as “The VLOG.” Here’s more on the signing and that backlash by The Blogger himself.

As previously mentioned, Isaac Comelli at Rant Sports wrote this piece about Wilson yesterday about how Wilson would be a great pickup. The piece is insightful and indicates that the scouts think Wilson is ready to go.
