Eric’s Dodgers Blog goes down to the Farm; Josh Beckett Set To Have Season-Ending Surgery

The Blog finds itself at LoanMart Field (better known as The Epicenter) in Rancho Cucamonga, CA for tonight’s game between the Dodgers’ High-A affiliate Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and the Lancaster Jet Hawks as part of a group game for the University of Redlands School of Business Rancho Cucamonga Campus group game and family night, which was organized by The Blogger himself.

If you haven’t been to Rancho Cucamonga lately, now is a great time to come out and see how some potential future Dodgers are doing.

While waiting for the gates to open, fans are being treated to some amateur men’s softball on the nice playing fields that surround the stadium.

Meanwhile, about 40 miles away at Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers prepare to take on the Phillies, with Hyun-Jin Ryu taking on Cliff Lee.  As a side note, word just in that Josh Beckett will have season ending surgeru.  We will have more information on that later, but another small blow dealt to the Dodgers starting rotation.

A great night for baseball in Southern California, and from the High-A Cal League to the Major Leagues, if you haven’t left the house yet to enjoy the National Past Time, your local ballfield is calling!  We will leave you to your evening with several more shots of the sights at Rancho Cucamonga.

Interesting to note: Delino DeShields is leading off and playing second base for Lancaster, while Pedro Guerrero bats second and plays second base for the Quakes.  Any relation to the former major leaguers?
