Matt Kemp Activated From Disabled List For Tonight’s Game Against The Giants

Multiple sources confirm that Matt Kemp, who has been on the 15 day disabled list due to a hamstring injury, has been activated and will be the starting Center Fielder tonight for the Dodgers as they take on the San Francisco Giants at Dodger Stadium.

Kemp has struggled this season, hitting .251 with 2 homers and 17 RBIs in 51 games played.

Kemp will be batting fifth in tonight’s lineup.

A corresponding roster move to make room for Kemp will be made by game time, and no moves have been made as of two hours prior to game time, nor is it known if the Dodgers will option a player or designate a player for assignment to make room for Kemp on the roster.

Outfielders Scott Van Slyke and Carl Crawford remain on the disabled list, with Van Slyke continuing his rehab with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes starting on Wednesday night.  No set timetable has been given for Crawford, though it has been speculated he will resume his season some time on the next road trip, which includes a three game weekend set against the San Francisco Giants in San Francisco July 5th-7th.
